OxySorb™ oxygen absorbers are supplied in Australia by Wholesale Group International Pty Ltd for food storage, Mylar bags, jars, pouches, tubs, retail packaging and commercial food manufacturing. Oxygen absorbers are also known as oxygen scavengers, O2 absorbers, oxygen absorber packets and oxygen absorber sachets. They are used inside sealed oxygen-barrier packaging to help remove residual oxygen and protect oxygen-sensitive foods from oxidation, rancidity, colour loss, flavour deterioration, mould and microbial spoilage.

Oxygen is one of the main causes of food deterioration during storage. When oxygen remains inside a sealed pack, it can accelerate oxidation, reduce shelf life, affect aroma and flavour, and create conditions that may contribute to mould growth in suitable products. OxySorb™ oxygen absorber packets are designed to reduce oxygen inside properly sealed packaging, assisting with longer shelf life and better product stability.

OxySorb™ oxygen absorbers can be used for a wide range of food and packaging applications, including dried foods, grains, rice, flour, nuts, dried fruit, jerky, biltong, pizza bases, bakery products, tea, coffee, pet food, nutraceuticals, vitamin packaging and other oxygen-sensitive products. They are suitable for both small-scale food storage and larger commercial food packaging operations.
