OxySorb Oxygen Absorbers 400cc

OxySorb™ 400cc oxygen absorbers are a conservative starting choice for larger retail packs and storage jars up to 1.6 litres, such as packs of nuts, dried fruit or flour. How OxySorb oxygen absorbers work

Oxygen absorbers remove residual oxygen from the air enclosed in a sealed pack. This helps limit oxidation that can affect flavour, aroma and colour in suitable foods. They do not remove moisture, sterilise food or replace safe food preparation and storage.

Use suitable oxygen-barrier packaging with a reliable seal. The cc rating describes oxygen capacity, not the volume of the food or bag. As a conservative starting guide, allow about 250cc capacity per litre of total container volume, before accounting for food displacement. Safety & handling

• Keep sachets sealed until use. Work promptly and reseal unused sachets in suitable airtight, oxygen-barrier packaging.
• Do not eat or open sachets. Keep them away from children and pets. If swallowed, seek medical or veterinary advice and contact the supplier for the safety data sheet.
• Do not microwave sachets or attempt to reactivate them. Oxygen absorbers are single-use and may become warm as they work.
• For routine home storage, use only with suitably dry foods. Moist or semi-dry foods, including jerky, need a validated preservation system: removing oxygen can create conditions in which dangerous anaerobic bacteria grow.
• Validate absorber size, sealing and shelf life for each commercial application. Freezing or vacuum-sealing does not remove the need for safe food handling.
